Finally chose and purchased a van!
2022 Ford Transit 148 Extended Tall Cargo Van (All Wheel Drive)
2 Roof Ventilation fans (Maxxair Deluxe) motorized with remote control and thermostat installed in front and rear roof.
Purchased Goal Zero 8kwh Power Station providing multiple days of off grid power for all lights, fans, water pumps, furnace, refrigerator, cooktop and charging outlets.
Installed additional system to charge Goal Zero off of the alternator while driving. Will eventually have 500Watts of solar panels and shore power outlets (15a and 30a) installed to recharge from those as well when available.
Initial upgrade to larger A/T tires for winter travels.
"4 way" Hydronic Heating system installed (with assistance from system manufacturer Rixens in Sandy OR)
This includes air and floor heating as well as hot water on demand for indoor/outdoor shower and kitchen sink fueled (very efficiently) by vehicle gas tank. Also installed option to preheat the cargo area of the van while driving using the engine waste heat (instead of furnace) which also saves time and fuel to get living area up to temp. Inversely the furnace can also preheat the engine in extremely cold conditions to reduce engine stress.
Self Installation of insulated/structural subfloor with channels cut for hydronic floor heating pipes and heat transfer plates.
Self Installation of baltic birch marine grade plywood mid-floor layer.
Temporary cheap carpeting installed to protect flooring until top layer is decided on/ installed
